Help Out!

There are many things that need to get done so we can make so many children happy every year. since we are a 100% volunteer organization, only you can make that happen.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS AT OUR WORK PARTIES!!

We are in urgent need of anyone to come and help us. Any one can help! We have a wide variety of tasks that need to be done, from repairing, cleaning and dismantling bikes for parts.  We usually have several skilled mechanics that can help you out if you need to fix something you are not qualified to do yet. We have tools available for volunteers to use. This is a great volunteer opportunity for groups, especially Boy and Girl Scouts.

CHRISTMAS SEASON-October through December

Tuesdays and Thursdays 5pm-9pm
Saturdays 9am-5pm
go to the calendar for specific dates.

Work Parties take place at out Warehouse:1415 Iron, Kansas City, MO

OFF SEASON
The second Saturday of every month 9AM to 2PM
go to the calendar for specific dates.

Bicycle Donation Guidelines
The greatest need is for kids bikes (20 inch wheels or less) and mountain bikes. We will accept all bicycles; some are used for parts, others are sold (collectable and Bike Shop quality), and unusable bikes are scrapped for salvage value. This allows for us to pay for the kids’ bikes we repair each year.

WHERE DO I TAKE MY BIKE?
The preferred method of donating a bike is to drop it off at one of our scheduled work parties at 1415 Iron, Kansas City, MO(and while you are there, help us out for a couple of hours fixing bikes)

2006 Drop-Offs:

Saturday November 11th 10am-3pm (or when truck is full)
94.9 KCMO will be broadcasting live from their parking lot(southeast corner near Johnson Drive and Metcalf) and they will be accepting drop off donations of bicycles to help us kick off the season.

Other Drop-Off Options:

Bicycles are accepted at the Bridging the Gap recycling centers on the third Saturday of every month from 8AM to 4PM. Their locations are:

Metro North Mall Across the street on North side of the mall

Bannister Mall In Walmart parking lot across Bannister Road on East of Mall

Plaza 48th and Forest (access from 47th street)

If you are unable to commit your time or do not have a new or used bike to donate, we do except donations. To give monetary donations please see our contact information.
